This second quarter final of the first night of the 2008 WFTDA National Championship Tournament, the Northwest Knockdown
brings together the 2008 Cinderella team, the Munecas Muertas (4W)
(Dead Dolls) of Duke City Derby, Albuquerque, New Mexico and the Beast of the East, the
Gotham All-Stars (1E) of the
Gotham Girls Roller Derby,New York, New York.
The Munecas burst into national attention at the Western Regionals by defeating the reigning champion Kansas City Roller Warriors.
In the 2007 Championship, the Texas Shootout, it was the Kansas City team, ranked 4W that knocked out the Gotham Girls ranked 1E in the first round.
Gotham is again ranked 1E and again they face the 4W team. This time, not the KC Warriors, but the team that knocked them out, the Munecas Muertas.
Cinderella has arrived at the ball. Will she live happily ever after, or will the Gotham All-Stars turn her dreams into so many smashed pumpkins?
